Course Description:
If ever there was a time when teachers needed new ways to talk with each other about poverty, prosperity, and community sustainability, this is it. In the wake of the “Great Economic Meltdown of 2008,” school communities are being challenged with families in crisis and how to respond to the “tyranny of the moment.” Join Jodi and Jane as the work of Ruby Payne’s Framework for Understanding Poverty unfolds. We will explore 12 Key Points, "Hidden Rules", poverty-related behaviors and resources to provide interventions.
